As an Integrative & Functional Nutritionist, I help people identify the source of their health issues using advanced lab testing, personalized nutrition, supportive lifestyle therapies, and mind-body practices as the first line of intervention. It’s my mission to empower people to take back control of their health, reclaim their confidence, and experience life at its fullest potential.

More to the Story

Throughout most of my life, I indulged in whatever food I pleased without much concern for its impact on my health or weight. However, as we’ve come to realize, being thin or overweight doesn’t always equate to being healthy. I had quite the sweet tooth, often indulging in dessert before my main meal. Admittedly, I did maintain a balanced diet, incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables. My meals were mostly homemade, but my excessive salt intake didn’t align well with my genetic predisposition to hypertension.

My craving for sweets and the excess salt in my diet were steering me toward a path of elevated blood pressure. Simultaneously, my A1C levels were on the rise. My doctor took a proactive stance, suggesting a low-dose hypertension medication, lisinopril. Given my background as a former pharmacy technician, I was acutely aware that medications, regardless of their intent, come with side effects. I wasn’t keen on just masking my stage 1 HBP; I wanted a comprehensive solution. I yearned for a resolution that went beyond addressing just one issue, as untreated high blood pressure could lead to other serious health conditions like cardiovascular disease and kidney damage.

Recognizing the essential elements of holistic well-being, I shifted my focus towards healthier eating, self-care, mindfulness, stress reduction, physical activity, and overall movement. This transformation acted as the catalyst for my journey into becoming a Functional Medicine Clinical Nutritionist. I made the conscious decision to prioritize wholesome living above all else.

But my journey didn’t conclude there. It became apparent that our food choices aren’t merely a dichotomy of good versus bad or healthy versus unhealthy. They’re an intricate interplay of various factors, some within our control and others not. Eating should not evoke fear or confusion, and possessing a slender physique doesn’t automatically translate to good health. Our well-being extends beyond our dietary habits to how we treat our bodies and manage stress. Our struggles persist because we often attempt a one-size-fits-all strategy, despite our individual uniqueness.

This realization impelled me to share my insights with others. Thus, I founded TeaTree Nutrition and Wellness Practice, driven by a desire to contribute to my community and assist others in embracing a healthy lifestyle.
